Dr. Amy Stewart – Educator, Entrepreneur, Founder of Nightwatch Childcare & Operation Experience, Inc.
Dr. Amy Stewart is an award-winning educator, entrepreneur, and community leader dedicated to empowering children and families through education, innovation, and advocacy. She is the founder of Nightwatch Childcare Center, Maryland’s only therapeutic overnight childcare facility and the first of its kind on the Eastern Shore. Since its opening in 2018, Nightwatch has provided critical support for families in need, earning Dr. Stewart recognition as Palmer Gillis Entrepreneur of the Year in 2021.
With a doctorate in education from Walden University and extensive experience in English and special education, Dr. Stewart’s career is built on a foundation of compassion and commitment to youth development. Alongside her husband Ben, she also co-leads Operation Experience, Inc., a nonprofit serving the youth of Delmarva, where she serves as president.
Beyond her entrepreneurial ventures, Dr. Stewart is deeply engaged in civic service. She serves as a commissioner for the Salisbury City Zoo, a member of the Youth Development Advisory Committee, and a mentor to students in Wicomico County Public Schools—bridging connections between young people and local businesses.
Her work has not only transformed childcare services in Maryland but has also inspired a generation of youth to dream bigger and achieve more. Through her leadership, advocacy, and community outreach, Dr. Stewart continues to be a force for positive change.
